Week 1

Things I learned:

Throughout all the readings and videos that I watched this week, one common theme stuck out across them all. Being an entrepreneur isn't about being worried about the money, but rather it is finding something that you love to do first, then finding a way to make it marketable. The only problem is trying to figure out a niche in a market in which you specialize, and love to do. For example, Guy Kawasaki could have become a lawyer, and tried to fulfill the expectations that surrounded him, but once he started law school, he realized that he hated it and dropped out completely. He then found something he did love to do, and along the way, made money doing it. At the end of "Entrepreneurial hero", it talked about measuring the success of an entrepreneur. It showed three questions to measure what you've done, which were ,"Did I accomplish something meaningful? Was I a good person? Who loved me and who did I love?" I feel that this really boils down what really matters in terms of whatever you do. Accomplishing something meaningful doesn't have to be creating a huge corporation, but rather something that made the world better. When it comes down to it, at the end of our lives, what will really matter is the kind of character you are, and what you were known for being. In living each day, it is important to be conscious of our actions with others, and how what you do will impact the way others view you. And lastly there would be nothing worse then getting through life, having success, and no one to share it with. Those who are close you should never be of latter priority than work.

Things I need to learn:

I need to learn a lot more about what I'll be willing to sacrifice in order to achieve this goal. It will take a lot for me to learn about what kind of commitments I will need to make in order to accomplish my goal. The last thing that I will need to learn is what my real, ultimate and final goal is.
