Week 8: Overcoming challenges
Things I learned: Often times we need to change our way of thinking in order to become a successful entrepreneur. We can't follow the same path of logic from problem to solution, rather it is important to think of solutions, and their applications to problems. In this line of thinking, as we come up with ideas, it will be easy to get discouraged by those who do not share that same vision. Often times there will be roadblocks between your ideas, and the success you could have. Success will not come from just having good ideas. It takes effort, time, and dedication to create success. It is very important to be able to not just look at the problem at hand, but the roots of all the problems that occur. As you fix problems at the roots, rather than just at the surface, you are more likely to not be faced with similar problems. Problems usually don't occur out of nothing. There is usually a cause to the problem that could have been avoided. When problems arise it is important to not get overwhelmed. There will often be complicated problems that do not have a simple, straight-forward answer. It is important when dealing with problems, to focus on the problems, and slowly working on what you can accomplish. Slowly working on these problems will allow you to realize what the solutions are, as well as what will need to be done to prevent this kind of problem from occurring in the future. Sometimes you will not know how to solve problems. It is important to learn to rely on those around you for ideas, whether they are your family, friends, or those you have met with business experience. It is important to be willing to take advice from others, and to understand you will not understand everything you should do.
Things I need to learn: How will I be able to see how deep a problem goes? How do I learn who to trust with advice on problems? How do I develop a trusted network of people?
