Week 11: Measure the cost

Things I learned: Money is not the most important thing out there. It is more important to be a good person. As you focus on trying to make difference, you will be doing something bigger than just trying to make money. Entrepreneurship isn't about trying to make the most money. A quote that I thought was interesting was," Regardless where you end up in the rat race, you are still just a rat." It won't matter in the long run how much money you made, but rather it will be more important the kind of person you were. As you try to be a good person, that is what people remember about you. On the other hand, you need to do something that makes money. You can't just refuse to make money just to focus on being the best person. You need to make a living, not just because you need to live, but there will be others that will be dependent on the income you make. Money won't lead to higher levels of happiness. It is important that regardless of how much you end up making, that you live your life in a way that in the end you feel satisfied with the kind of person you were, and what you were able to accomplish with your time. Money is a tool to helping you to provide for yourself and others. It is a very necessary thing to have. It is just important to draw the line where you are not caught up in trying to make more money just for the sake of making more money.

Things that I still need to learn: What is the balance between pursuing more money, while also trying to pursue a more meaningful relationship with those around you? How do you know if enough is enough?
